Alan與Marilyn Bergman夫婦長期為多部影視作品配樂填詞，獲頒三座奧斯卡金像獎，兩座葛萊美獎、三座艾美獎。

Neil Diamond與美國詞曲作家Alan & Marilyn Bergman夫婦為1977年美劇"All That Glitters"共同譜寫的主題曲"You Don't Bring Me Flowers"，後因電視製作人改變想法而放棄採用。

Neil Diamond將之收錄於第11張錄音室專輯《I'm Glad You're Here with Me Tonight》於同一年11月發行，Barbra Streisand獨具慧眼，隔年發行翻唱版並收錄於《Songbird》專輯。

美國WAKY電台經理Gary Guthrie將兩人的獨唱版拼接剪輯播出後大受歡迎!!!順應聽眾所好，歌倫比亞唱片公司安排Neil Diamond與Barbra Streisand重新灌錄對唱版，1978年11月發行後十分成功，本曲進入美國告示牌流行榜六週後登頂，將Donna Summer的"MacARTHUR Park"擠下第二名。

對唱版分別收錄於Neil Diamond個人第12張專輯《You Don't Bring Me Flowers》與Barbra Streisand第二張精選輯《Barbra Streisand's Greatest Hits Volume 2》，筆者當年購買的是台灣唱片公司發行的合輯。
