The Shangri-Las是一支1963年成立於美國紐約的少女流行樂團，由Mary、Betty Weiss兩姊妹與Marge、Mary Ann Ganser攣生姊妹組成的四人團體。

主唱Mary Weiss當年才十七歲，這首歌有趣之處是如舞臺劇般由三個人物對白開場，中間還穿插摩托車引擎聲特效，歌詞描寫少女Betty愛上飛車黨男孩Jimmy，當正想與他約會時，Betty的父母反對，並要Betty離開Jimmy，失望難過的Jimmy路上發生車禍當場死亡...
